 आज गुरुवार (29 अक्टूबर) के प्रमुख समाचार पत्रों में प्रमुख रूप से बिहार विधानसभा चुनाव के पहले चरण के तहत शांतिपूर्ण मतदान होने की खबर सभी अखबारों ने प्रमुखता से दी है। जनसत्ता की सुर्खी है- बिहार की 71 सीटों पर 53.54 फीसद मतदान। दैनिक भास्कर लिखता है- ईवीएम में बंद हुई एक हजार 66 उम्मीदवारों की किस्मत। पंजाब केसरी की सुर्खी है- कोरोना खौफ पर भारी पड़े वोटर।

तेजी से पटरी पर लौट रही इकोनॉमी, सभी को मिलेगी वैक्सीन। प्रधानमंत्री के इन शब्दों को नवभारत टाइम्स ने प्रथम पृष्ठ पर जगह दी है। पत्र लिखता है- भारत निवेश का सबसे पसंदीदा देश बनेगा। राजधानी में कोरोना की बेलगाम होती रफ्तार, 24 घंटे में पहली बार मामले पांच हजार से पार, जनसत्ता की खबर है। दैनिक जागरण लिखता है दिल्ली में दूसरे दिन भी टूटा रिकॉर्ड, नौ फीसद के पार हुई कोरोना संक्रमण की दर।
कोरोना काल ने सरकारी स्कूलों में बढाये दाखिले। 

हिन्दुस्तान की यह कवरेज शिक्षा क्षेत्र में आये बदलाव की ओर ध्यान खींचती है। बच्चों को स्कूल भेजने में हिचकिचा रहे अभिभावक, जनसत्ता के प्रथम पृष्ठ पर है। दैनिक जागरण लिखता है- राजधानी में अगले आदेश तक बंद रहेंगे स्कूल। दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर योगेश त्यागी को पद से निलंबित करने की खबर सभी अखबारों के प्रथम पृष्ठ पर है। गाय के गोबर के दिये से इस बार जगमग होगी दीपावली, एक करोड़ 11 लाख दिये तैयार -राजस्थान पत्रिका की सुर्खी है।

The Tribune writes "Troops standing firm at LAC, says Rajnath.

"Parliament panel lambasts Twitter for act of 'treason' " on showing Leh as part of China, reports the Hindustan Times. "India, UK to set up bilateral sustainable finance forum" states the Tribune. Under the caption "Lockdown Fears", The Financial Express writes "Growing corona cases rattle global stocks".

And finally, 'Vaccine may be ready for use as early as December' in India if Government decides to opt for 'emergency authorisation' and by January even if it doesn't, The Times of India quotes Adar Poonawalla, Chief of India's Serum Institute. "Syringe, vial makers ramp up capacity amid vaccine hopes" notes the Business Standard".
